Demand Planner The Demand Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient inventory management and meeting customer demands. The Demand Planner is responsible for working collaboratively with the respective Category Managers, and Sales Executives across a range of commodities to create and maintain accurate forecasts and inventory allocation plans to ensure optimal and strategic inventory positioning for each commodity. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Operations and Commercial. Academic/training requirements: Minimum academic training: BS in Business Management, Economics, Marketing, International Trade, or Industrial and/or Process Engineer or equivalent years of experience Languages: Spanish & English B2/C1 Positions for professionals with around 3 years of relevant experience, in manufacturing environment and food industry is prefered. Specific knowledge required: Experience in food industry or other perishable commodities Import/export environment ERP systems Statistics, forecasting processes and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts Some of the responsibilities/tasks to be executed according to the final role: Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels and time horizons, ensuring their execution. Reconcile variances and refine forecast models based on updated sales and market assumptions. Prepare weekly or monthly supply and demand reports to monitor supply levels and align with forecasts. Provide insights on inventory trends, demand fluctuations, and supply constraints for decision-making. Calculate and monitor potential Excess and Obsolescence (EO) and lead disposition initiatives. Monitor daily inventory availability and allocate inventory across the global logistics network. Adjust forecasts based on aging inventory, operational capacity, and market conditions. Develop strategies for aged or distressed items based on customer demand and sales opportunities. Coordinate with logistics partners for timely delivery and inventory replenishment. Recommend inventory strategies for existing items, new products, and product phase-outs to the commercial team. Ensure proper inventory allocation and adherence to FIFO principles. Provide commercial team with reports and feedback on customer demand and sales needs. Collaborate with procurement to establish and maintain supplier relationships. Research and develop customer databases for the commercial team. Identify market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform forecasting and inventory management.
